The Managing Director of the Ghana Water Company Limited, Kweku Botwe, is accusing the immediate past Minister for Water Resources, Works and Housing, Mr. Enoch Teye Mensah, of plotting to remove him from office.
According to Mr. Botwe, his former Boss is employing “lies and falsehood” to get him out of office.
Mr. Botwe was asked to proceed on leave after an enquiry commissioned by Mr. E.T. Mensah indicted him.
The report cited the MD for misconduct, failing to provide adequate information to the Minister about a loan facility which the Minister was supposed to present to Parliament amongst others.
But speaking to Joy Fm, Mr. Botwe said the committee that undertook the investigations ignored its terms of reference and engaged in a witch-hunt against him.
“The fact of the matter is that, he [E.T Mensah] consciously goes about telling people that I am NPP element in Ghana Water; I would sabotage the government and for that matter he must flush me out.
"That is his cup of tea…He is obsessed with that idea so he must do everything to get rid of me,” Mr. Botwe said.
Mr. Botwe defended a number of the accusations made against him in the report saying, Mr. E.T Mensah cannot “judge me for what I choose to do”.
He insisted there was nothing wrong with taking initiatives to provide people - who hitherto, relied on unwholesome sources for their water supply - with treated water.
